"As a surfer and Santa Barbara transplant, I was drawn to explore how this area produced such talent in surfing. I discovered a story of the values of mentorship and work ethic, which I wanted to promote, to show that humility and hard work can help build an entire movement.

Surfboard shaping is a craft steeped in heritage and mentorship, and those who practice this sacred art have the unique task to design equipment purely for emotional expression. It’s a purely unique culture. It’s important for younger generations to seek mentors. Learning how craft, heritage, and place define one’s community helps to define the self.”
